Overall great stuff on the clone! The movement feels a lot better than the original because you can move diagonally. Jordan brings up a good point with the sprites accelerating , it looks really neat. Aside from the improved movement, the clone is overall solid.
Nice clone Drew! Your rodent is appreciated. The UI dressing around the edges is super faithful and well made, as are the textures for the spinning portions of the game. I am impressed with the extent to which you matched the feel, tone, and visual style of the original because in my opinion it is a visually complex game. I do think that I would appreciate being able to move my cursor more quickly, but the speed of the blue obstacle cursor still matches my own which I think helps mitigate that somewhat. I was sometimes unsure why it felt to me like I could get some objects up to speed easily and some I could not, particularly in the DNA welder, but personally I feel that the source game is a bit lacking in feedback, so this may not be unique to your clone. The thing I enjoyed most was when I could get a particular object spinning really really quickly as it looked cool and was also helpful in allowing me to focus on other objects for a time.
Well done with this clone!
Great Job Drew! The visual style feels spot on to the original game, even in places where you may have made some changes.
To critique one thing, I feel that the way the cursor affects the speed of the object animations doesn't feel as good as it could. The acceleration speed was on the slower side, and the max speed felt a little sluggish compared to the original. It was impossible to keep everything but a select few moving at a time.
Still overall, you did a great job putting it all together, and it had the same weird vibe that the original did!
